The Carleton Place & District Chamber of Commerce, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce and the Keep Ontario Working Coalition are working together to ensure that the Ontario government does the utmost to help employers transition to whatever legislation is passed this fall.

In the meantime we encourage you to:

  • Visit the website
  • Send letters or phone your local MPP, Ministry of Labour, and Premier Kathleen Wynne
  • Share the impacts of Bill 148 with your friends, family, and associates (they may not understand the impact)
  • Recommend offset options to the Chamber network which will ensure that Ontario businesses remain competitive and successful.
View the full CANCEA Bill 148: Fair Workplaces, Better Jobs Act, 2017 Assessment of the Risks and Rewards to the Ontario Economy Executive Summary and Report  here.

Until the end of 2017, refer a new member to the Chamber and get a FREE pass to any of our 2018 Business at Breakfast events (including our AGM)! This only applies to businesses joining the Chamber of Commerce for the first time.

How does this work?  New members can tell us who  referred them on their membership form, or the referring member can let us know that they are sending a new business  over to join. Once payment is received from the new member, we will contact the referring member and credit them a breakfast!
