If you are looking to spend a few hours with friends, family or even a first date, Chasin’ Turkeys Bowling Alley might just be the perfect venue. Under new ownership since June 22nd, 2018, the bowling alley has undergone extensive renovations and modernization, has had a name change and logo redesign and still maintains the same 50’s charm it has had since it originally opened. Husband and wife duo Ashely and Christine Walrond purchased the bowling alley, formerly known as Visions Bowling, Centre from Mike Sears.
The alley has six lanes and is a five-pin bowling alley. It features a party and meeting room to host birthdays, office parties, festive gatherings, tournaments and any other event you might want to plan.
Chasin’ Turkeys is fully licenced and patrons can enjoy a cocktail, beer or wine while they bowl. The alley proudly serves local microbrewery beer. The renovated and modernized bar is also a nice place to sit down, relax, and enjoy a beverage.
Not only does the alley offer a great time for adults, but it also is a fantastic place for families and children of all ages. For smaller kids, new E-Z Bowlers are available to help them roll the bowling balls down the lane.
The Chasin’ Turkeys Bowling Centre summer hours are 11am-5pm Tuesday through Thursday, 11am-6pm Friday, 10:30am-6pm Saturday, 12pm-5pm Sunday, and closed Monday. These times may vary depending on events and holidays.
There are a few leagues that operate out of the bowling alley on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm and their contact information can be found at chasinturkeys.ca if you are interested in taking part. There is also senior bowling leagues that run on Friday afternoons at 12:30 pm . Seniors can contact Chasin’ Turkeys to find an informal league that suits them. Youth bowling leagues will also begin in September of 2019.
Owner Ashely Walrond, while speaking to The Carleton Place Almonte Canadian Gazette, said, “The idea came from wanting to have a place where people can get together and unplug. We are all so focused on our devices … come hang out and chat.”
