The world of banking is constantly changing as technology develops to make it easier to navigate banking online and complete financial transactions without the human interaction element. But for Scotiabank, being part of and contributing to the local community means enhancing their connection not only with clients but also with institutions and organziations within the communities they operate in.
And that means that as true community partners, they are always looking for opportunities to give back to the communities in which their staff and clients live and that they operate corporately. Scotiabank is committed to supporting initiatives across Canada and with over 1,000 locations coast to coast, and Carleton Place is one of the places they call home.
“It is in us, as Canadians, to support each other in any way that we can, whether we donate time, or in this case, financial support,” says Client Relationship Manager, Alin Faca. Knowing of the trying times that our healthcare system has experienced in the last few years and hearing firsthand the challenges that staff has experienced around healthcare, Faca felt that supporting the Carleton Place District and Memorial Hospital’s new Emergency Department Expansion was the perfect opportunity to give back.
“The addition of the emergency department within the Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital seemed the best way to put our community involvement skills to good use,” he said. “I know it in my heart, that we are not just helping a good cause, but once this emergency department is operational, it will benefit the community for years to come.” The Scotiabank team will participate as both a sponsor and with a team at the Chamber rocks bonspiel on March 11th and look forward to contributing to the overall success of the tournament. Last year over $5,500 was raised for the Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital Foundation so we are looking to meet or beat that number in 2023.
Recently Scotiabank’s generosity has also supported the Halifax Marathon and Owen Sound Local Hockey Team.
