Canada Digital Adoption Program – led by the Ontario Chamber of Commerce

Get up to $2,400 to grow your business online. What you can do – implement e-commerce capabilities to remain competitive, serve existing customers more effectively, attract new customers, get online, increase sales; adopt security software; connect with customers; improve social media marketing; improve user experience for online customers

Get up to $15,000 to boost your business technology- increase productivity, consolidate your back-office software, get cybersecurity tools, tailor a digital plan for your business, reduce overhead costs; speed up transactions, respond to clients more quickly, manage inventory, improve supply chain logistics and more.

In addition, e-commerce advisors will be available to work with grant recipients to help identify their digital needs, provide links to digital resources, help with completing applications, and answer questions.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE for CDAP?

To be eligible for micro-grant funding, small businesses must meet all the following criteria:

Must be a for-profit business (including for-profit social enterprises and co-operatives) in Ontario

Must be a registered or incorporated business

Must be a consumer-facing business

Must be able to be accessed by consumers or provide in-person services to consumers

Have at least one employee (other than the owner) OR had at least $30,000 in annual revenue in the previous fiscal year. For Businesses in operation less than 80 weeks who have not yet filed their first year’s taxes or received their CRA Notice of Assessment, the Business must have a gross revenue of at least $30,000 in the last 12 months of operations or since incorporation/registration.

Must commit to maintaining a digital adoption strategy for six months after participation in the program.

 

Canada-Ontario Job Grant

Canada-Ontario Job Grant (COJG) provides opportunities for employers, individually or in groups, to invest in their workforce, with help from the government.

The Canada-Ontario Job Grant provides direct financial support to individual employers who wish to purchase training for their incumbent employees and new hires. It is available to small, medium and large businesses with a plan to deliver short-term training to existing and new employees.

Important to know:

Employers may be eligible to for up to $10,000 in government support per person for training costs.

The training has to be delivered by an eligible, third-party trainer.

Employers with 100 or more employees need to contribute 1/2 of the training costs. Small employers with less than 100 employees need to contribute 1/6 of training costs.

Employers with fewer than 100 employees who are training and hiring unemployed participants are

eligible for 100% of the training costs up to $15,000 per participant and are not required to make a minimum contribution to training costs for training funded through COJG.

Magnet – Student Works Placement Program –

The Student Work Placement Program (SWPP) Powered by Magnet brings together employers, students, and post-secondary school stakeholders to create quality work-integrated learning (WIL) opportunities.

The program provides employers with wage subsidies to hire post-secondary students for paid work experience. (all semesters) Students in turn benefit from quality work experience so they can secure employment in their chosen fields of study. Funding is limited and administered on a first-come, first-served basis wherein completed applications are prioritized in the order they are received.

50% of the wages (to a maximum of $5,000) for each net new placement.

70% of the wages (to a maximum of $7,000) for each net new placement for under-represented groups including women in STEM, Indigenous students,

Wage Subsidy for Construction Employers

Magnet is supporting Buildforce Canada with their new wage subsidy program, Construction Career Pathways (CCP).

This program offers companies an on-boarding support incentive where employers can get up to $2,400 for each hire (max 2) that completes a 16-week work placement.

Technology Investment Program

ME’s Technology Investment Program aims to help SME southern Ontario manufacturers automate production, reduce their environmental footprint and increase their competitiveness in the global market.

The program provides direct financial assistance to SME manufacturers in southern Ontario in the form of a matching contribution of up to $50,000 (a maximum of 50% of eligible costs, which can include capital equipment, materials, training on new equipment, installation of new equipment, professional service fees, as well as a company’s direct labour devoted to the completion and management of the project) to support the investment in long-term production assets and technology that increase capacity and reduce emissions on production. – intake until December 2023

CanExport SMEs

For projects in fiscal year 2023-24, project activities will begin on or after April 1, 2023.

Small and medium sized companies may access up to $50,000 in funding to assist with international market development activities. We cover up to 50% of costs for export marketing of your products and services in international markets where you have little or no sales.
